Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the vision of Pacific Heritage Academy
  • Conducting and implementing student IEP’s
  • Maintaining compliance with Special Education regulations
  • Managing and coordinating a team of Special Education support staff
  • Providing and overseeing instruction that supports the state core standards, in a manner supportive of evidence-based curriculum that is used
  • Working cooperatively with the school team in all areas of instruction, assessment, documentation, parent involvement, and classroom management
  • Participating in regular and ongoing professional development efforts to strive for excellence in education

 

Communication:

  • Be proactive in communicating with parents individually via meeting, phone, or email.
  • Support the messaging, vision, and marketing of PHA within the community, country, and world.

 

Professionalism:

  • Reflect upon your performance as a teacher using the teacher evaluation rubric (Utah State Standards).
  • Be punctual and diligent about fulfilling yard duty and other time-sensitive obligations.
  • Identify and regularly participate in professional development opportunities that promote self-efficacy and the development of one’s skill set.
  • Exhibit positivity about the School, Faculty, Staff, Parents and Students.
  • Devote a reasonable amount of time to understanding internal processes and procedures. Abide by PHA’s internal procedures including but not limited to finance, transportation, HR, admissions, marketing, fundraising, etc.
  • Attend Faculty/Staff Meetings, participate in school-wide events including but not limited to: Heritage Days, Back to School Nights, Parent Action Counsel, Student led conferences, Celebration of Learning, Graduation, Internal and External Professional Development, etc.
  • Devote a reasonable amount of time to completing additional duties as assigned by the Director or designee, including but not limited to leading at least one After School Club and an additional duty (i.e. committee membership, program leadership, etc.)
  • Agree to and abide by the expectations outlined in the Pacific Heritage Academy Employee Handbook.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Special Education teaching endorsement.
  • A valid Utah Educator’s license preferred.
  • Experience in the related field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community members.
  • Ability to be creative, resourceful, and reflective.
  • Commitment to educational excellence.

 

Special Education Paraprofessional

Job Description:

*Run small group and individual literacy instruction, supervision as assigned.

*Support the vision of Pacific Heritage Academy in using the power of education, the endurance of language and culture, and the virtue of relationships and community to help young people on voyages of discovery.

*Work cooperatively with and supporting the school team in instruction, assessment, documentation, and classroom management.

*Become familiar with curriculum programs used at PHA.

 

Qualifications:

 

*Excellent English Language skills.

*Bilingual in Spanish welcomed.

*A positive, cooperative attitude.

*A willingness to learn and to work hard.

*Patience, and a love of children.

*An appreciation and respect of diverse cultures.

*Ability to pass a background check.

Substitute Teacher

Job Summary: Looking for an energetic, dependable and motivated substitutes to work with students at all levels from Kindergarten to Middle School.

Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Follow the sub plans of teachers.
  • Support the vision of Pacific Heritage Academy in using the power of education, the endurance of language and culture, and the virtue of relationships and community to help young people on voyages of discovery.
  • Work cooperatively with and supporting the school team in instruction, assessment, documentation, and classroom management.

  • Excellent English Language skills.
